Where we focus
Each member organization brings its own program design. BEN-E's job is to find the common thread across them, and turn it into coordinated action.
BEN-E aggregates evidence and experience from across its member organizations and carries it directly into conversations with federal and regional education bureaus — turning scattered program data into a coordinated policy voice.
Capacity building for teachers and school leaders, delivered through member organizations, with a focus on the training and materials that hold up in under-resourced classrooms — not just in a workshop.
Community awareness work targeting the specific barriers that keep girls and children with disabilities out of school, paired with advocacy for the school-level infrastructure needed to keep them enrolled.
Social accountability and community-level monitoring of education services, funded in part through GPE's Education Out Loud fund — giving communities a structured way to flag what isn't working.
Support for education continuity in conflict-affected, drought-affected, and displaced communities — including accelerated catch-up models like Speed School for children who've been out of the classroom.
Active participation in the GPE Knowledge and Innovation Exchange's Africa 19 hub, sharing evidence with education networks in neighbouring countries and bringing regional learning back to Ethiopia.
